Android TV 7+ supports Picture in Picture but Emby app still doesn't support it unless I'm missing something.

It is possible for the future.  In my experience I see almost no one using this on the platform but we'll see what kind of support this specific request gets.

One good example could be watching Live TV in the small window while playing a game.

Another example would be playing music at the same time, or a TV show or movie.

Especially useful during an MMO, if you use Steam In Home streaming or other similar services.

 

Don't sleep on this, this is useful.

You can already play music while browsing the app - or even browsing other apps on the device.

On a phone, yes, but not on Android TV while running another app.

Yes you can.  Of course, if the app you are running requests audio focus, then the app will stop playing.

That would never be used for audio.  The device is designed for only one app to play audio at at time.  Doing anything else would be chaos.  Even with PiP, only one app will be able to produce audio.

I believe you should mark this as completed since Picture in Picture works on the Android TV UI and on the Google TV UI as shown below:
