richt 94 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 I'm not sure if this is a guide data issue, but over the last 6 months I've seen the recording folder change for a series. For example when recording "The Flash" as a series sometimes Emby will record it into the folder tree "The Flash (2014)" and then record the next episode and store it in the folder tree "The Flash (1990)". This may seem like a minor point, but over the last 2 weeks it has changed nearly all my recording folders from "SeriesName (YEAR)" to "SeriesName", or "SeriesName (YEAR_for_a_previous_series). It is just plain messy and confusing. Any idea on what is causing this or how it can be addressed?
Solution Luke 42077 Posted November 21, 2019 Solution Posted November 21, 2019 Hi, there are existing discussions about this. The recent tvdb outages have played a role: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/79269-tvdb-api-issues/ Ideally you want the series year in the folder name, but the guide data doesn't provide this, so we try to obtain it from tvdb. But if they're having issues at the time of the recording, then those issues become our issues. I would manually merge your existing ones and then as tvdb resolves their issues it shouldn't happen anymore. 1

richt 94 Posted November 22, 2019 Author Posted November 22, 2019 Thanks for the update. I'll monitor the TVDB api issue.
