I think what Spaceboy is saying is, if you connect that USB port to a powered USB connection on a TV, then you won't need the other power supply connection.

yes sorry I didn’t think I needed to say it was usb on tv to (apparently it’s a 4x1.7mm) power jack on mibox. I had one of these for charging and transferring data to a Sony PSP and it works perfectly.

 

Just got to a hotel with a tv without a usb and no nearby plug socket I can access. Running the mibox off a power bank through the same cable
