Good afternoon,

I'm having some issues with playing back some files through the web and emby theater. This particular one is in wmv format, but i'm having the same issue with some H.264 files too.

My log file is attached. My server is running on windows 7. The file plays fine directly on server, through windows media player, and through VLC. it also plays remotely from the network share.

Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi, can you provide a log from an h264 example as well? Thanks.

no log is produced when I try one of the other files, the error comes up immediately.

Hi, does the browser debug console show any errors?

I can see this:

playbackmanager.js?v=4.2.1.0:1 Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Cannot read property 'UserData' of undefined
    at playWithIntros (playbackmanager.js?v=4.2.1.0:1)
    at playbackmanager.js?v=4.2.1.0:1

Hi Luke, not a problem at all, still getting the no compatible streams.

apiclient.js?v=4.2.0.82:1 WebSocket connection to 'wss://MYSERVERADDRESS/embywebsocket?api_key=REDACTEDKEY&deviceId=REDACTEDDEVICEID failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 404

I dont think this is related, but my emby server is behind a reverse proxy server, that converts to https, however i get the same issue when using the local IP.

From where in the user interface are you trying to play?

I'm just removing and re-adding that library, as it was added as a tv series, they are more "box sets" so wondering if that is causing the problem.

That seems to have done the job. Known files that were not playing, now are.

Sorry to have bothered you.

I'm guessing you clicked play on a folder that was empty, or that the server thought was empty due to unsupported tv naming.
