M3U sorting

Hi guys,

I use 2 different M3U playlists and it seems Emby removes duplicate channels with the same name.  How do we stop this from happening?  If I have 2 different IPTV providers I want to be able to access all the channels.

IE provider 1 has CNN but I can't find provider 2 CNN because Emby will eliminate duplicates.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, it's not so much name, do they have tvg-id values?

We plan to add more control over this in the near future so that you can decide on the behavior. Thanks.

Emby seems to only show one channel per tvg-id. If you have many channels sharing the same tvg-id, only one of them will show.

Being able to customize this behaviour would be fantastic

Thanks for the reply!

Yes both providers use similar naming but use completely different ID numbers. For some reason when I use the search option some channels aren’t found. If I paste the channel code into IPTV plugin I can add them manually this way and they do work.

I prefer to just search and add to collections.

Btw something happened with a recent update and now on my Roku all the channel names in my collections no longer appear until I am on the channel. It would be great to get the channel titles to appear below each channel again.

What is meant by tvg-id?

That’s how mine appear. The 353543 channel works but the other provider CNN channel can’t be found and it uses a different # than 353543.

This will be resolved in the next update to the Roku app. Thanks.

Does your m3u contain tvg-id values?
