4K Bluray Folder Format

So I have tested and found that ebmy will play 1080 bluray in folder format back without a issue over local network with the smb:// path added for direct play. It may be my devices but will it also play 4K movies the same way. I tested 3 Disney movies today with no luck. want to make sure i am not just missing something.
