Multiple Versions of same Movie in diff Folder possible? | Vanishing Movies

Three days ago I have finally tested emby for the first time and wow! Why did I waste my time for years with the Kodi database?!

I am on the newest update.

1.) Is it possible to somehow get different Versions of the same Video combined together in one Entry?

I have already read the wiki and know that I would have to put the Videos into the same Folder and then mark them with "- DifferentVersion".

However, I want them in different Folders since when they have some external Resources like external Subtitles then I push them into an "Subs" Folder and I really would like that there are only the Subtitles of one Movie in this folder and not of multiple Versions of the same Movie.

Same with Fanarts or Posters.

I have thought that maybe this is somehow possible since the Software is in other Collection cases not that strict either.

Furthermore, should according to the Wiki different Versions at least be names in the "Movie" Tab if they are named like in the Wiki? ie.: I have Batman in FHD and 4k, if I am using " - 4k" should´t there be an 4k addition in the Batman name? Because I don´t get this. I only have two Batman entries.

2.)

I sadly cannot properly redo this as it happens seemingly randomly.

I have the Problem that wen I use the pagination "->" sometimes the ability to go one page back "<-" is greyed out and several of the first pages Movies fill up the 2nd page, so that it has the max entries. After that I am unable to navigate anymore.

However, the same sometimes happens when I just look at the Metadata of some Movies and then when I go back to the page I am unable to navigate.

This can only be fixed when I go back to "Home" and then into the Movies section.

Anyone can help me with 1.)?

Hi.  You can manually group versions using the web app.  Do a search on the item or otherwise bring them up so they are on the same screen, check the box in the upper left on both and select "Group Versions" from the "..." menu.

Does that answer your question?

lol, that was easy.

I would have preferred something automatic but this is easy enough for me.

Another one:

Is it somehow possible to tag entries in bulk?

ie.: I want to Tag some Movies but obviously not each Movie separately.

Sorry, there currently is no way to bulk edit in Emby.

@@MikePlanet also has built a plugin to automate it.

Thank´s I will check this Plugin out.

lol, well that was requested in 2015 :D

So, if the database does out of some reason not fill the FSK in and I don´t want to tag everything separately then the only way to make it "childsafe" is to separate all my content in different folders?

Or is there something else?

Correct those are the methods of parental control.

Question if you made a mistake and added movies to a group how would you undo the group to start over I didn't see a remove group version

Open the item and scroll down to MediaInfo, there should be a split versions apart button in the web client.

Note you may have to do this several time depending on how many items are in the group.
