skewed_stony 3 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 At the last official Version of Emby for Qnap Nas, it is not possible to edit the aspect ratio of the content in the metadata. For example the movie needs to set 2.20:1 aspect ratio. Why would these feature removed? 1
Luke 42081 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Hi, this information was never being used for anything, so that's why it was removed. In other words, you may have been editing the value in the metadata editor, but it wasn't affecting anything.
skewed_stony 3 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) Hi Luke, thats not true! It worked with all skins like Aeon Nox Silvo. This Feature is very important for me! Where will I find the metadata Editor? Edited November 5, 2019 by skewed_stony
skewed_stony 3 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Where will I find the Metadata editor?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I don't remember ever seeing this in Edit Metadata. It is provided in the nfo when the probed mediainfo is written.
skewed_stony 3 Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Hey Luke, I dont find the Option in the metadata editor. This is why I have open this thread. My Emby Version 4.2.1.0 dont have the field anymore. Should I go back to the Beta Version? In my last Version 4.1.0.8 was the field included!
Luke 42081 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Correct, this field is not available in the metadata editor.
skewed_stony 3 Posted December 3, 2019 Author Posted December 3, 2019 Hi Luke, is there a way to include the field to the metadata editor again? In the NFO Files It will be saved as e.g. "<aspectratio>2.40:1</aspectratio>" My Skins on Kodi like "BELO" oder "AEON NOX Silvo" will find out that and show it in the movie data with an icon. Thx for your reply. Timo
Luke 42081 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 It's not that simple. We have to first commit to allocating space for it in the database. If there's enough user demand then yes we can do that. Thanks.
skewed_stony 3 Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Hi Luke, any news on adding the user defined "aspectratio" into the metadataeditor? I am looking forward to hear from you. THX STonY
skewed_stony 3 Posted February 11, 2020 Author Posted February 11, 2020 Hi Luke, I already use the 4.1.0.8 beta Version of Emby on my QNAP. This is the last Version within the aspact ratio of 2D and 3D option field in the metadata editor. Is there anyway to get this in a newer version of emby? I will need that field for my automatic homethatrescreen to masked them into the right aspect. THX
skewed_stony 3 Posted August 12, 2020 Author Posted August 12, 2020 Hi Luke, I always use the BETA Version 4.1.0.8 that will support the manual entry of the aspect ratio. Could you pls check again, if its possible to get that option back in the metadata editor? I think that this small data will not get in conflict with any other features of emby. Thx 4 your Reply
gkiss1977 2 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I agree. We need to have an option to set/generate a field that shows the actual aspect ratio of the movie, not the aspect ratio of the video file. This would allow us with projectors to automatically set the zoom ratio when a movie is starting to play. 1
visproduction 315 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Were you thinking of creating a dbase of AR values by movie name? That would not be needed. What about having the screen controller look for the screen resolution? It's already in the stats on the page in class .mediaInfoAttributeValue If the controller needs preset expected values, you can make some js math round up to the numbers needed. I would guess the screen can take 1.848 and use it, instead of waiting for a perfect 1.85. Plug-in send AR info to screen mask media page - on play click send the resolution or AR, or whatever the screen mask API needs. Use a jquery post to projector IP. and regexp and math cleanup, if needed, to convert 1920x848 to whatever the screen mask controller needs. On off switch User input for projector address IP This way no new dbase space is needed. Just an idea.
