dseg30 5 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Hello - I have this show and for some reason it realized that its got multiple epi's on one file but didn't recognize episode 2. Any tips/thoughts on how to force it to recognize? I tried refreshing metadata but didn't seem to work.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Your multi-episode files did not get recognized when they were imported. Your episode 1 should show 1-2. You should not have a list item for any of your even episodes. Have you tried doing a Refresh all on the series?
dseg30 5 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Thanks for replying Happy! I did a refresh on the series and then I just did a refresh on the whole tv share and its still not forcing. I'm at a loss.
Luke 42078 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Hmm, this is probably just a difficult example due to the 17 in the title. That would be my best guess as of now at least.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Are these episodes in a Season folder?
miniliQuid 94 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) Edit the episode metadata and just set the numbering (check for episode 3 and 4 if it picks those 2 up correctly how to set it) manually. Think that should do that trick? Sometimes when there are numbers in the title it gives a wrong episode number to it (title number rather than the episode number). Now that doesn't explain for you why it's acting weird on episode 2, but if it has numbered it incorrectly, manually changing should easily fix it. Edited November 5, 2019 by miniliQuid
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) The UI (Edit Metadata) does not have a field for episodenumberend. This only appears in the nfo file. similar example https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/78937-multi-episode-file-not-registering-second-episode/&do=findComment&comment=802873 Edited November 5, 2019 by Happy2Play
dseg30 5 Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Yeah it picked up every episode correctly for some reason except for 2 which I find weird. yes it is in season folder. Maybe I'll do the old plex trick and pull it out rescan and then put it back in and rescan and hope it works. My OCD is just killing me that its showing 2 as not there hahaha.

By my multi-episodes that box IS actually for the end episode. Not sure how it picks up the the other episodes, but that may simply be because it is scanned in the nfo file correctly. Either way manually fixing it should solve it quick enough, if not through metadata through the nfo file?

Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) Only other thing you can tested is removing that combine episode, doing a library scan and ensuring the episode is removed from Emby. Then re-add the episode and do a library scan to see if it is imported properly. If it doesn't work, I would post that server log. Edited November 8, 2019 by Happy2Play
Luke 42078 Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 I don't save .nfo's... I understand. I'm trying to give you a workaround you can use right now due to the fact that the field you need to edit isn't in the metadata editor.
Dizzy49 99 Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I have run into this a few times as well. Here are the two things that I try. Move all the episode files out of the season folder. Delete everything in the season folder. Remove the files so they are JUST <show> SxxEyy.<extension> Move them to the auto organize folder and have Emby try to detect them. If not, I manually set the show. About 90% of the time this works. IF NOT, I have to manually name the show entirely to match my naming scheme and place it in the Season folder. Emby will then pick it up, and almost every time it will get the metadata correctly.
