Movie sort by - retain original date added?

I'm using the latest beta and have "Use Data Scanned Into Library" set as the "Date added behavior for new content:" drop down. This works fine apart from when a new version of the same movie overwrites the original file. The move gets moved to to top of the list again. is there a way to get only the original file date to be the sorting entry?

Hi.  I believe if you save metadata to nfo files with your media, then that original date would persist.

Sorry for the late reply. I was waiting for the issue to reoccur.

 

I have had nfo metadata setup from day 1 and the issue still happens. The date added flag in the nfo gets changed to the date the new file was imported for some reason.

Then your nfo file must not have a date added value inside.
