Can not play from any app except Chrome Web App

Just today we've started to experience connection and playback issues for ALL of our devices that don't run Chrome.  We have Roku's, Amazon Fire Sticks, and of course, our Android Phones.

My Rokus and Fire Sticks don't seem to ever completely load the menus and even seem to have problems logging in (tried both using Emby Connect through emby.media and logging in directly to my server).  My Android Emby App on my phone has no problem navigating the menus, but refuses to play anything (spinning circle of death).  My Android's Chrome browser, when going through app.emby.media plays back just fine-- as does Chrome on my Windows 10 computer and Chrome on my Mac computer.

I can see myself (and other's) on my dashboard that they're attempting to log in, but nobody is playing anything (except me, who is use my Chrome browser.)  Live TV and Recorded video works for me, and it's working well from the browser.

Just let me know what you think I should submit.  The things that seem to be WORKING are Emby Mobile 4.2.1.0 (Chrome on Windows 10) and Emby Web 4.2.0.74 (Chrome on Mac).

I've attached my Emby logs for today-- there are two, since I tried to restart the server to see if that would fix it.

Hi there, have you tried rebooting your server machine?

I had tried that-- that's why I attached two server logs since I think a new log is started every time the server restarts.

Did you try rebooting the entire machine though?

Oh yes, sorry.  That's what I did, I didn't restart Emby only.  I did a "sudo reboot"

For what it's worth, today it appears that all the apps are working again, although at least one of the Roku's that I use is loading the menus VERY slowly.  Nothing really changed, as far as I can tell, other than the date.

edit:  cancel that, when trying to load the Live TV guide/channels from one of the Roku apps, it crashed.  When I reloaded, it made me log back with username/password.  (43' TCL Roku TV, Roku SG 3.0.175)

2 other roku's are playing right now however, a Premiere and a 2 also using 3.0.175.  Also seems to be working at the moment from a Samsung SmartTV (UN65KU650D) using Emby Theater 1.0.69.

While I haven't had to log back in again, my Roku devices are by far the least responsive of any of them-- initial startup and menus once there take forever.  I haven't had any more issues with my Fire Sticks or on my phone yet.  My dad stopped telling me when his Roku's are acting up because he doesn't like bugging me so much about it unless Emby is absolutely not working for them.  I'm not sure if related or not, but the Roku apps also seem to have some of the worst "Auto" bitrate detection of the bunch, as well.

Almost definitely related but not because the auto detection is "bad".

It sounds like your Roku boxes are getting very slow response from your server and that would lead to a low bitrate being selected.

I would investigate the network speed to the Roku devices.

Every other service that I try (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) works great on the Roku device that I use most frequently.  Roku's network connection shows as good in the devices settings.  Connection to my server (which is located offsite) is good.  I have no problems streaming my most demanding videos, for instance, from my server to my computer, which uses all the same network infrastructure on both sides as the Roku except for, of course, the Roku and the computer itself.

As far as the bitrate detection, there are times where I've checked and it's gone down to like 100-200Kbps and it still buffers endlessly, switch to watch something on Hulu and it comes through perfect.  Or switch to the SAME show on my computer, and it comes through perfectly.  That's the primary reason I think it has to do with the Emby for Roku app.  I've tried everything I can think of on my end (both server and client side) to make it work better, but haven't figured it out yet.

I doubt it will have an impact but, if you have the debug options in the app turned on, turn it off.
