I'm facing the same issue. When I use Emby app on an AndoidBox the volume is so low although everything is at max. When I use other devices on the same setting the volume is loud. How do I fix this?

Have you checked the volume for the browser?

I'm using Emby_1.6.88g, not a browser.

Hi.  That's a really old version of our Android TV app so you should upgrade as the first step.

Usually, when this happens it is due to the audio settings on the device not being correct and the app doing something like sending 5.1 audio to a stereo only system.  Please be sure you have the proper audio setting on the device itself.

Thanks.

I have noticed this as well with the current version, and previous versions as well.

My TV audio goes from 0 to 100.

When using the cable box, we generally have the TV volume at 8-10.

When using Prime video app on the shield, we generally have the TV volume at 10-12.

When using Emby on the shield, we generally have the TV volume at 50-60.

The shield volume level stays at about 50% for all cases above.

Hasn't been a problem, except for the times people are sleeping in the house and someone (usually me) changes the TV source from the shield to the cable box without lowering the volume first ;)

I'l check the shield to see if I can find a audio option to always send stereo and see if that helps.  But all IPTV channels and movies etc behave the same.  I doubt every one of them is 5.1.

I hate to necropost but this is the first thing that comes up for "Emby Fire TV low volume" when I search on DDG. I've been having this problem for a while and found a solution which hopefully helps others that search.

My setup is Emby Fire TV on Firesticks and a Firecube, with no surround sound system. I'd have to crank the volume up to 50ish for emby and 20ish for other apps, it didn't matter what TV it was or what the audio format was (mono/stereo/surround). The solution is to change the Fire TV settings not Emby settings.

Go to Fire TV settings > Display and Audio > Audio > Surround Sound. In my case it was set to "Best Available" which selects the best between PCM/Dolby Atmos/Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Digital. I'm going to assume it thought it could use one of the Dolby settings since setting it to PCM fixed the problem!
