skidmarks 199 Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) So i am using a lot of mixed folders. For the most part i have no issues with how they are displayed. A "It is what it is" kind of thing. Functional. But here comes the holiday season... The main reason i enjoy mixed folders, especially in this case, is the ability to put all the holiday stuff in a holiday library. I dont want to see holiday movies or tv specials and music specific to a holiday in my normal movie or TV and music folders. So thats what i did. Everything is in a big holiday library with sub directories for specific holidays. Been this way for a while. But i went to play a Halloween album last night and see all the tracks but not song numbers? Not even in the correct play order. I set up all the music folders just like i would if i was adding them to my main music library. Only difference is i put them in the mixed content folder. Am i expecting too much by using mixed content folders? Holiday Mixed Content Library: Selected Halloween Music: (but all music libraries here do the same thing) Result: Could of sworn, at some point , during my MB / emby experience this actually showed like an album, not just randomly displayed files? (Should mention i'm running the beta) Edited October 29, 2019 by skidmarks
Luke 42086 Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 You'll get a better experience using the dedicated music content type.
skidmarks 199 Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 Was just trying not to have multiple libraries for holiday specific media. Lumping all this holiday stuff into one emby library (mixed content) was my solution. Apparently not a good one for music. To me even this haphazard music display is better than having a library for every holiday season. Thanks for the reply!
Happy2Play 9785 Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 I haven't tested but I thought Mixed Content only applied to Movies and TV?
skidmarks 199 Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) Yah i don't know. You can see it does display music in the mixed content folder. Just not how you would expect it to. I should mention, i forgot how i set it up, that there are two folders being looked at by the holiday mixed content library. One is a holiday music folder (set up like a normal music folder) and the other is a holiday video folder. It has "movies" (set up with the normal movie structure). It works rather well...
