Erik 124 Posted November 11, 2019 Author Posted November 11, 2019 I go to the website, download each setup.exe and open it right from the chrome browser bottom bar when its completed. Server one works, ET one doesn't get past the github download part.
Guest asrequested Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 That's odd because the installer is the same for the both of them. You're going to the website each time for the latest installer, right? You're not saving a copy of setup.exe, right. Yup! New install executables. I just grabbed it from Git hub, instead.
Luke 42077 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Can you please try this: https://embydata.com/downloads/theater/release7/setup.exe Thanks.
Guest asrequested Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Can you please try this: https://embydata.com/downloads/theater/release7/setup.exe Thanks. It got further in the process, but eventually hits the same error
Luke 42077 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Please try this version: https://embydata.com/downloads/theater/release8/setup.exe Thanks.
SikSlayer 249 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 It gets further, but eventually ends with the same error message.
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 What do you mean by gets further? 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I do not get that error running that setup.exe above. It installed and launched. I would assume the same error in the install log in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-InstallLogs.
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Can you grab the install log? Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Please try this version: https://embydata.com/downloads/theater/release11/setup.exe Thanks.
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Are you running a VPN? Yeah, at the router level. Snort IPS, too
Luke 42077 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Yeah, at the router level. Snort IPS, too Have you tried turning off the VPN?
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I haven't, but I might try when I get a chance.
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Looks like others are having the issue with no use of a VPN. I doubt that is the issue. I can download from GitHub with no issues.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 But why does it only affect some and not all then?
Guest asrequested Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) But why does it only affect some and not all then? That's the $64,000 question. I'm thinking there's some kinda Windows thang, goin' on. Edited November 12, 2019 by Doofus
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 That's the $64,000 question. I'm thinking there's some kinda Windows thang, goin' on. All points to security. Error getting package version: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. The api appears to error out for some, but are able to still get directly from same site.
Luke 42077 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Please try this version: https://embydata.com/downloads/theater/release12/setup.exe Thanks.
SikSlayer 249 Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Happens exactly the same as before, as shown Doofus's animation.
Guest asrequested Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 (edited) Okey dokey. It isn't my VPN. I just tried installing on one of my other machines. Same OS, with the same AV software, behind the same VPN....it installed without a hitch Edited November 13, 2019 by Doofus
Guest asrequested Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Obviously, I have much more software on this machine, other than that, the only difference is that this is hooked up to all my Audio Video hardware.
