FJankovsky 0 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) Good day all, I'm new to Emby and I've spent the day reading many many posts and have managed to find the correct version for my AMD Xpenology, got it installed and up and running. I'm up against a wall on getting Movies to show up. I've got Photos, music and tv shows working just fine but I am not able to see any movies at all in the location where all my movies are. Yes, I've read the post that shows creating a new share but I do not want to move everything to that new Share. I did create the new share and give it permissions and put a few movies in the share as a test and they eventually showed up.. Perhaps it just takes a long time for a library with lots of movies? Running DSM 6.1.7-15284 Update 3 on an HP Proliant N40L. Thanks in advance, Frank Edited October 27, 2019 by FJankovsky
Luke 42077 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Hi there, what does your Movie library folder structure look like? How did you set it up in Emby library setup? Has the initial library scan completed?

I'm currently using KODI and it can deal with it. I'm moving things over to the new share. It will take a few days but I'll get it done. I don't really know if the initial scan is complete or not. I don't see any indication of it running. Thanks, Frank

Thanks, Frank If the Dashboard or Dashboard-Scheduled Task doesn't show the task running, we can assume the task is done. You can also search the log for when the task completed. It is really hard to say without specific example, but that structure may work but the odds of items being identified properly are pretty slim. Items may be merged together also.
FJankovsky 0 Posted October 28, 2019 Author Posted October 28, 2019 Well I'm going to clean up this mess and move my movies to this directory. It may take weeks but I'm committed. I never did the whole Plex thing because of the required structure. Was always happy having access to years of random data gathering. Time to get with the program¡
