BillOatman 596 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Hi. I've noticed this for some time, but finally figured out how to reproduce it. If you have long show entries, such as a sporting event, scroll down so that one of the long entries scrolls off the screen, then scroll back up so that entry comes back onto the screen, the grid scrolls all the way to the end of that show instead of staying where it should be. Figuring that would be hard to follow, I made a video Shield client, release version. https://jmp.sh/3SsTC6C
BillOatman 596 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 I'll see if I can find that situation in the guide tonight, but I don't use the web app.
BillOatman 596 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 @@Luke @@ebr The web app behaves as I would expect. It does not scroll to the far right.
Solution ebr 16184 Posted October 22, 2019 Solution Posted October 22, 2019 Yeah, there are a number of topics on this since the guide went to a true "smooth scrolling" implementation over a paging one. This is the Android system attempting to show you an element that is too large to fit in the window it is in. I have not found any way to control exactly how it handles this yet. The only thing I could potentially do is to chop these things into screen-sized pieces but I think that is a less than optimal solution as well. This is the reason that channels with no guide data are shown as a bunch of separate items instead of one long one - because there is no way to control focus with one long one. 1
ebr 16184 Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 How does the web app compare? The web app has no concept of "focus"...
BillOatman 596 Posted October 22, 2019 Author Posted October 22, 2019 Thanks @@ebr. I have control over those particular guide entries and others like it. It was easiest (and quite frankly cleanest) to make one large entry, but I'll break them up into multiple 2 hour entries and see how that goes.
