gerry.emm 10 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Hi everyone, I have recently run into a little problem with my EMBY server. Somehow, the audio and video in my movies only has gone out of sync. There is about a 5 second lag between the audio and the video, but in my movies only. All of my TV shows are fine. I have made no changes to any system settings anywhere in EMBY nor on my Roku streaming box. I access EMBY on TV via a 4K Roku streaming box which I only use in 1080p max. In an effort to troubleshoot the problem on my own, I've made sure EMBY is up to date, have made sure my Roku system software is up to date, have made sure Windows is up to date, have optimized all my storage hard drives, have re-started my EMBY server, have re-started my Roku, and have made sure nothing is running anywhere in the background on either system. No matter what I try, the audio and video are out of sync in all of my movies, while my TV shows are fine. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there an easy way to fix this problem? Outside of uninstalling EMBY and re-installing it fresh, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try? This has become a major problem. I have been running EMBY for quite a few years, have encountered a bug or two over the course of the last few years, but never anything that has stumped me this much. Any help anyone can provide would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Gerry.
Luke 42079 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Hi there @@gerry.emm, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
gerry.emm 10 Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Hi, I have attached the server log file as well as any relevant files within the same folder. I cannot find any log file generated by the Roku. I will keep looking...please advise if there is a particular file (and its location) that I should be looking for. Thanks in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated!!! Gerry embyserver-63706487635.txthardware_detection-63706488732.txtffmpeg-transcode-57e4f479-a688-4b16-b43a-b9d666dd945e_1.txt
gerry.emm 10 Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Well, here's an interesting development...if I fast-forward to 2 minutes into the movie, and then try playing it, the audio and video seem to be back in sync...now I'm REALLY confused!!! Anyone have any insights to offer? Thanks on advance to anyone that can help!!! Gerry
Luke 42079 Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Let me guess, this only happens with mpeg4/xvid files?
gerry.emm 10 Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 Well, MOST of my movies are MP4's, with some MKV's and a few AVI's...I didn't stop to notice if it was different with one type of files versus the other...and up until last week, ALL my movies played without any audio / video sync issues...this seems to have started "on a whim"...and ALL of my TV shows are in MP4 format...and as I mentioned earlier, none of them are experiencing any kind of audio / video sync issues Please let me know if there is call for one type of file to be preferred over another where movies are concerned.... And as always, thanks in advance for any help you can provide...it is MUCH appreciated!!! Gerry
Luke 42079 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 I asked because there are some issues with mpeg4/xvid/divx that we're looking into, and I'm guessing it ties into this.
