jaysn8 0 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hey guys, I am stuck with getting my media library scanned -Emby doesnt scan it any longer since I updated my portable setup from 4.0 to 4.2.1 recently. The scan is always failing with the notification "Scan media library failed". When I hit the "i" button the following error message is being displayed: The libraries have been created years ago. Everything is running locally on a Win Server 2016 (portable). The server logs are attached. Can somebody tell what I can try to have my libraries scanned again? Thanks guys! embyserver.txt
Luke 42086 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hi, how exactly did you update the server?
jaysn8 0 Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 I downloaded the latest portable x64 version from the website and stopped Emby server. Next I backuped both the 'programdata' and the 'system' folder. Then I removed the old system folder and replaced it with the recently downloaded system folder of the 4.2.1 version. Finally I restarted Emby. Is that correct?
Luke 42086 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Yes that's correct. Looks like you may have moved the portable install folder, right? It used to be here? C:\Users\Jan\Desktop\embyserver-win-x64-3.5.2.0
jaysn8 0 Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 Exactly. In the beginning it was running from the desktop folder and a couple of months ago I moved the entire folder to a permanently backuped folder on another local hard drive. Can I fix this somehow?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 How old is this portable? @@Luke When was %RootFolderPath%.paths added to the database?
jaysn8 0 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 How old is this portable? I started with 3.5.2 and kept updating every once in a while.
Luke 42086 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 @@jaysn8, are you still having an issue with this? @@Happy2Play he might might be able to surgically repair his libraries by shutting down the server and then editing the paths stored in the files under /programdata/root/default If that doesn't help then deleting the library.db file would be an option, or a less destructive route would be to remove the libraries from Emby library setup, running a full scan to clear the database, and then adding them back.
jaysn8 0 Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 @@Luke Thanks for your efforts. I decided to make a clean install to have all paths correctly. Now everything works perfectly fine. Thanks again.
