Episode shows missing

Hello Emby gods,

I recently added an episode to a season, however the episode still shows missing. (See Screenshot)

Episode 27 and 28 are contained within the same file and have been named as such (Filename is S02E27E28.mkv). This follows the same naming scheme i have used in other series that work fine.

Ive performed a library scan as well as had it refresh and replace all metadata for this season, however the episode still shows missing. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Does it still appear like that after a Full Library scan?  Some users are seeing quirks with "Display missing episodes within seasons" user setting (User icon-Display)?

It does remain after a library scan, I also disabled then re-enabled the missing episode display in my profile

Yeah, I imagine this is a case we simply didn't anticipate - an individual missing episode being replaced within a combined episode.

That's strange. I thought we were handling that scenario. @@Happy2Play are you able to reproduce?

I have several multi-episodes shows and have not noticed this so I may need to know specific steps @@ServerGuy took.

Do you have an outline of the steps you're looking for?

The basic steps I took are:

Moving the file to the correct season folder from outside the library directory

Letting the automatic scan pick up the file

Once the episode was added to the library and I noticed the episode still showed as missing I ran a library scan

I then ran a replace all metadata on the season

Disabled and re-enabled the missing episode display on my user profile

If you have any other details youre looking for just let me know

I have no issue adding multi-episode items and them being picked up properly.

What naming scheme did you use?  Have you tried removing the episode, doing a library scan, and re-adding the episdoe?

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Happy - make sure you test the scenario of having x and y as missing and then add one that is x-y.

The key there being that no episode gets identified as y (either by itself or as the first episode of a multi).

If that works, then maybe it is the case of only having y missing in the first place...

That is what I provided above.  Arrow S01E20 thru E23 were missing and I added S01E21-E22.disc.

I also tried having say S01E22 present and E23 missing and replacing E22 with S01E22-E23, without issue.

Okay, thanks, Happy.

One interesting thing I note is that there is no metadata for the "Missing" one.  That leads me to believe, maybe it isn't properly identified as that actual episode and maybe that's why it isn't going away.

ServerGuy - if you look at that item in the metadata editor does anything stand out?

Actually I think that may be it.  Since it does not have a proper name I would assume it has changed/been updated via provider site from when the item was cached in Emby.

What happens if you do a Refresh All on that missing episode, then a library scan?

Posted

It's all based on episode numbers so the name shouldn't matter.

The name, specifically, doesn't matter but the fact that "version" of the episode has no metadata when that metadata is available seems to indicate the system doesn't really know which episode it is...

May need to see the server log when this episode is refreshed since the first post says it was already done on the season.
