In an ideal world, yes.  However, there is a long discussion about this very issue (in the appropriate forum) and just how difficult it actually is .

There may not be an installable app dedicated to the playstation, but the point is more to show that the PS4 is perfectly capable of playing media from your emby server.

 

It's a device that will support emby, and the emby team is happy to help troubleshoot issues you may find with it.

The actual building of the app is the easy part. The hard part is that Sony only allows specific partners onto their app platform. There are other topics in the PS4 section where we've gone over this. It's not an open app store like android or iOS where anyone can build an app and submit it for publication.

Gotcha and Sony probaly charges a licancing fee for it. Thanks for the clarification.
