byakuya32 24 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 You should have an app on the playstation store instead of having to use a webpage when streaming from playstation.
ebr 16184 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 In an ideal world, yes. However, there is a long discussion about this very issue (in the appropriate forum) and just how difficult it actually is .
byakuya32 24 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 It should not be on the webpage as a platform if there is no app for it 1
darkassassin07 652 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 There may not be an installable app dedicated to the playstation, but the point is more to show that the PS4 is perfectly capable of playing media from your emby server. It's a device that will support emby, and the emby team is happy to help troubleshoot issues you may find with it. Isn't that better than just leaving it out altogether?

byakuya32 24 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 I'm unsure of how difficult it would be when the playstation is an x86 architecture and the o's is basically Linux.

The actual building of the app is the easy part. The hard part is that Sony only allows specific partners onto their app platform. There are other topics in the PS4 section where we've gone over this. It's not an open app store like android or iOS where anyone can build an app and submit it for publication.
byakuya32 24 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 Gotcha and Sony probaly charges a licancing fee for it. Thanks for the clarification.
