Latchmor 584 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Hi, all I can tell you is that mine get bigger when my NAS is off and the server does a scan. One of my logs is 25mb with most of the content offline but when I switch on and scan again it's normally under 100kb. The offline log contains several lines per item that is offline so if you have a huge collection the log will be relatively bigger. I currently have 473 movies and 1753 tv eps. Cheers
saajan4u 79 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 this makes perfect sense.. i have my nas box on timer too.. cheers.. i'll take a look when its on next.
AdrianW 1058 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If MBS is scanning when your NAS is off, it's likely to mark your content as "offline" which can be annoying. I've changed the schedule of the "Scan media library" task so it only happens at certain times during the day when my NAS is awake. Note: each time you restart the MB server it will create a new log - and the older ones get purged. It looks like it keeps the 16 most recent logs.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If things are operating normally for clients, you can also delete the contents of the log directory if it is a problem. The server will create a new file if it can't find the one it was using.
