markdj 49 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Please tell me how I can stop Emby or the plug-in from creating the set below. I've removed the collections altogether (which is a hell of a task, even with multi-select), but the next day more get created still. Even without this specific collection. https://imgur.com/a/ytSgXHH Is there any way to stop these from appearing without editing the metadata?
Luke 42079 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Hi, just remove the plugin if you don't want it to create collections.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 I generally recommend people install the auto-boxset plugin, run it once, remove it, and manage plugins manually after.
markdj 49 Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 (edited) Well, I want the collections, I just don't want this specific collection from getting created because it appears to be bugged. Have you actually checked the screenshot? Edit: more get created every x hours/minutes (not sure how much time). So I've now got over 300 of the same boxsets....! Edited October 6, 2019 by markdj
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 Your writeup doesn't begin to describe your issue. You are getting multiple duplicate copies of the same collection shown in the UI. They're going to want to see server logs from a library scan whee these dupes are created.
markdj 49 Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 I can't upload any logs because the file is simply too big. The system hangs while trying to copy it, it can't be done. Unless someone has an idea?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 You are the first to every have a issue with collections that only affects one collection displaying a new one of the same collection with every scan. How large is the log? If you restarted Emby or went to scheduled tasks and rotated your log file, then performed a libraries scan can you post that log? Without knowing more about your setup, usage and how large your library is a large log could mean there are issues somewhere. Do these multiple Spider-Man Collections have the same path in Edit metadata/Metadata Manager? Is that the only collection you have? Or the only one that is multiplying?
markdj 49 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 (edited) I have a part of the log right now and it's 21MB already. I rotated the log last night (about 10 hours ago or so) so something seems wrong. Here's the file: https://gofile.io/?c=V3VXcH Edit: here's another smaller one:https://gofile.io/?c=VGvAaj The metadata is the same for all of these same collections. It's the only collection that multiplies, and it gets created again even when entirely deleted. Edited October 7, 2019 by markdj
Luke 42079 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 and it gets created again even when entirely deleted. Well this is expected based on our above answers.
markdj 49 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 Well this is expected based on our above answers. It gets recreated even when one still exists.
markdj 49 Posted October 7, 2019 Author Posted October 7, 2019 I’ll try and remove the boxset metadata from these specific movies that are part of these collections then. See if that works. And else I’ll just keep deleting these hundreds of sets daily. Guess I’m the only one so far but at least I wish this was taken more seriously by the developers.
ebr 16184 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Hi. Our log files are simple txt files and easily obtained from the file system. How is yours ending up as an .rtf? The first thing I would do is remove the "Kodi Companion" as I believe that is what is spamming your log with so much data right now. Then restart the server, go to auto box sets and hit the button to create the box sets. Then post that log as a simple file attachment as described in the topic above. Thanks.
Luke 42079 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 It gets recreated even when one still exists. Yes this is a valid issue that we should try to trace down.

The browser wasn't able to handle that much data, that's why I pasted a part of it in a .rtf file. I did as you said, but the log is still gigantic. I don't think it worked, but you can read the file better than I can. log.txt
ebr 16184 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 That log isn't that large. Unfortunately, it isn't large enough . We need you to turn debug logging on and restart the server and then run the auto box set routine again. Thanks.

I checked the collection again just now and the first trick seemed to do the job thus far. I'll be keeping an eye on it, but for now, thank you

markdj 49 Posted October 8, 2019 Author Posted October 8, 2019 "The first trick" being...? Removing Companion, restarting and running the boxsets plugin again.
ebr 16184 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Okay but, presumably, you use Kodi clients that will need that plug-in and your experience would point to a problem existing in that plug-in so it would be good to find out what that is. Can you re-install the plug-in as well as turn on debug logging and give us a log of the box set task? Thanks.
Luke 42079 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Regarding the collection getting created multiple times, a few questions: Does the original one created have a Movie Db Id assigned in the metadata editor? When you click on the original one, does it show all of the items for that collection?
jrhessey 21 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Should I create a new post for this? I have the exact same problem with the same spiderman collection (170+ times). I don't Companion installed for Kodi. The collections I have looked at have 556 the movie db field. I've uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it, no change. I've deleted everything in the collections folder, it still remains... I attached the logs from today, so you should see all of the activity I've done from today. embyserver.zip
Luke 42079 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Hi, simply uninstall the autiboxsets plugin, restart the server, and delete the Spiderman collection. Please see if that helps. Thanks.
jrhessey 21 Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 I think that worked. Just took forever to delete 180 of them... lol! Thanks Luke!
Luke 42079 Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. For future reference the multi select tool can allow you to delete several at once.
