theReverend 4 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 (edited) For some of my Album favorites, they appear twice: 1) Once with the Artist name and Album title. 2) A second time with the Album title only. My server is installed on a Synology DS418play and the "issue" appears on all client side applications (Xbox, web, Android). I've been an Emby user for the last ~5 years, so perhaps there's some old data that's making this happen?? My original/first installation was on a Windows server... See the picture below for reference: 1) Cars, Tortoise & Diatribe are all duplicated. 2) Leon Bridges and Joe Pecoraro are as expected. If I "un-favorite" one of the duplicated entries, they both will be removed. When I re-favorite, the duplicate reappears. I have a feeling this may be the result of old data, but I don't know were to look... Edited October 2, 2019 by theReverend
Luke 42092 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Hi, what is the folder structure of your music?
theReverend 4 Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 My music is set up as follows: \\NAS_01\Media\Music\Artists\Cars, The\Greatest Hits \\NAS_01\Media\Music\Artists\Tortoise\Millions Now Living Will Never Die \\NAS_01\Media\Music\Artists\Pecoraro, Joey\Music for Happiness
Happy2Play 9788 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Are the paths in each item the same (edit metadata)? It would appear there is slightly different metadata per album. If you were to search the album title do you only see one album?
theReverend 4 Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) If you go to the artist page, there is only one instance of the album. If you perform a search for the album, two show up. The paths are both the same in the metadata editor... \\NAS_01\Media\Music\Artists\Tortoise\Millions Now Living Will Never Die \\NAS_01\Media\Music\Artists\Tortoise\Millions Now Living Will Never Die Edited October 3, 2019 by theReverend
Happy2Play 9788 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 So the database has the album in it twice with different item ids. I would remove the albums from the library and perform a library scan. The do a search for the album and see if it is still returned. If it is I would use the delete option to remove the item from the database. Then re-add the album and perform a library scan.
theReverend 4 Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Thank you, Happy2Play! That worked wonderfully. I guess I should have thought about that solution!
