guymyer 1 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I have a bunch of LG TVs that don't support TrueHD via ARC and Emby is transcoding these to supported formats even when another supported track is available, such as DD5.1. Is there a way to force the server to select different tracks instead of transcoding?
ebr 16184 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Hi. No, you need to select this in the interface at this time. We cannot be certain what any given audio track will contain (it could be commentary) so we don't try to auto select it. It will remember the selection for subsequent playback though.
pwhodges 2012 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 How would it know that it's equivalent, though? Even restricting to the same language, another stream may be audio description, or director's commentary. But you can, of course, choose another track manually.
guymyer 1 Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 I know I can select and that it'll save the option. I was hoping there was a way to restrict TrueHD from ever being used, it's killing my playback with the audio transcoding on some 4k movies.
Luke 42079 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 More control over this is something we could add in the future. Thanks.
