Che8o 1 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Hi, is there a way to make the app cache credentials when logging into multiple servers? On iOS I'm not used to enter user/password every time, but on Apple TV, every time I switch the server, I need to login with credentials again, which is somewhat annoying given the remote control is rather brittle. Thanks!
ebr 16169 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Hi. You could login with Connect and that would solve that. Or, if they are local, then just set the users up to not require passwords on the local LAN if you don't want them secured.
Che8o 1 Posted September 29, 2019 Author Posted September 29, 2019 hmm ok, thanks! sounds like i'm out of luck.
ebr 16169 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Why do you say that? I gave you two options to get where you want to.
Che8o 1 Posted September 29, 2019 Author Posted September 29, 2019 Why do you say that? I gave you two options to get where you want to. they are both remote, i.e. the password option does not work. The Emby Connect part I did not get and suppose failed asking again. From my understanding this is meant to make it easy to locate the server, i.e. not require the knowledge of an IP. How does that remove the inconvenience of adding user credentials again? Just want to make sure I understand this correctly as I am a little allergic to such third-party services for security reasons.
ebr 16169 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 How does that remove the inconvenience of adding user credentials again? Because when you use Connect, it connects the device to a specific user on each server so there are no credentials to select.
Solution Che8o 1 Posted January 18, 2020 Author Solution Posted January 18, 2020 Yes thanks. Also the app changed here recently. It's working as expected now. 1
