Migration of metadata from Old Emby Server To New Emby Server

I have just recently built a new computer and am in the process of migration from the old emby server to new emby server.

 

I have the Server Backup Config and have restored to the most recent backup however the metadata is all needing to be refreshed or in some cases movies/tv shows fixed to represent the true version of the content

Is there a way to easily migrate the metadata over also or can you only migrate the config setup?

You could copy the entire emby-server directory. That would solve your issue. Probably somewhat overkill but it would eliminate the need to recreate anything.

The plugin only does a backup/restore of Configurations not data.  So yes every item will be refetched on the new server.  This is one reason saving metadata and images with media is recommended.

 

But yes you should be able to relocate your entire Emby-Server folder, but you will/could have issues depending on how your libraries are setup.

@@Happy2Play - Thanks for confirming that just means a few tidy ups I guess so wont be that bad

Thankfully half of the items it didn't identify correctly in the collection after a full refresh it has fixed about 75% of it
