Scream69 0 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Hello, I would like emby to STOP putting images and data and bio for the artists and songs. I tried unticking ALL of the fetchers to no avail....
Luke 42083 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Hi, we don't do metadata for songs anyway. What are you referring to?
Scream69 0 Posted September 28, 2019 Author Posted September 28, 2019 emby fetches images and album covers and artist bio even though I never enabled the fetchers...
ebr 16187 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Are these things embedded in your mp3 files?
Luke 42083 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 emby fetches images and album covers and artist bio even though I never enabled the fetchers... @@Scream69 Many of them are enabled by default. Have you made sure to disable them? What image providers are enabled for your music library?
Luke 42083 Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 When did you do this? Was it after everything had already been scanned into the library?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 yes, i rescanned thought... Disabling a options does not remove any image or metadata the has already been gotten. It only applies to new imported media. So you would have to remove the entire library, ensure settings are the way you want them and re-add the library. In addition depending on settings, you would have to ensure there are no images or metadata with your media. But for music there is no way to stop Emby from using the embedded image and metadata on each track. Unless you were to remove all embedded metadata from your music.
thesnappysneezer 2 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 I am having similar issues. I would love it if the data actually came from metadata I have attached to the file, but Emby scours some poorly informed database and frequently attaches the wrong information or image to my files. I just want the album art I had attached to the file and the metadata I created.

Luke 42083 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 @@thesnappysneezer, can you over an example? Remember that disabling the metadata providers after your content has been scanned will not retroactively remove any previously downloaded information. Thanks !
ryandavidg 30 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Unfortunately even those of us who quite like the album info etc being added are being forced to go down this route of disabling all providers and setting up the library from scratch, as Emby is relying on musicbrainz now when creating album artists etc, yet nobody seems to have checked the way musicbrainz handles cases such as collaborations / ensembles, as Emby just pulls in the first artist and uses that. With no way to fix it and no option to favour underlying tags for that album. Really hope someone will take a look at this sometime. To be clear, if the musicbrainz link leads to an album with "x & y" as the album artist then Emby creates an album artist of "x" and only uses that. 1
mrfragger 39 Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 I had the same problem. I disbabled all fetchers and it used the embedded metadata I assume. For now my solution is I have to use Neutron player cuz it can do metadata and also folder based navigation based on folder name. If Emby could do folder navigation (it can) but based on folder name not metadata it wouldn’t be an issue for me.
