Watching remotely go against data usage?

I have some user accounts for family off my server and noticed a big spike in my home internet (1tb monthly). Does watching movies remotely pull from my data? Same with Live tv, need to know before I expand to far or bite the bullet and go unlimited

Yeah I'm pretty sure most ISP s charge for up and down.

I know xfinity/comcast does, I had to go unlimited for $50/month

I also pay for an unlimited fiber connection. My internet bill is about $90.00 CAD/month
