Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I decided to try and add an audiobook library to see where it currently sits with Emby. I am currently using Booksonic for serving my audiobooks. I tried adding a book, which has already been tagged using MusicBrainz and setup using the following naming conventions as per the wiki. This is what I see in Emby It shows up as Chapter 25 and nothing else. I can't seem to get the book properly identified and to see all the chapters.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 It Just plays that chapter. My other books that are a single file seem to work correctly. Is there a way to identify the book and see where it is grabbing the metadata from?
Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 Ah I think I got it figured out. I was accessing the file through latest media which happens to consider each chapter as a unique piece of media. When I went into albums I was able to access the entire tracklist. Just a suggestion I think it would make more sense for "Latest" for audiobooks to only consider latest albums not tracks. 2

Jdiesel 1431 Posted September 20, 2019 Author Posted September 20, 2019 Would also be nice to change "albums" to books and "artists" to "authors" for audio books
Tang! 3 Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 The "Audio Book" type acts like the "Music" type - which is quite clearly is consumed much differently. This specific original issue has been brought up and explored in depth several times before, but the fix really hasn't gotten much traction. Eventually Emby will get to fixing this up, but over the years it's been repeatedly pushed to the last of the priority list.
