TonioRoffo 4 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Hello, Recently I have switched my existing Plex server (up for abuot 5 years) to Emby because I didn't like the path Plex is going. Everything works great, but I have found a bug with Android TV. my Philips is running Android TV Oreo. If I choose playback of a title containing AAC 7.1 audio, the title plays but without any audio. The Philips is connected with ARC to a receiver. I didn't yet check AAC 5.1, but AAC 2.0 seems to work perfectly. My best guess is the TV reports AAC 7.1 as compatible to the Emby client, but the TV (or receiver) can't play back. Is there a workaround on server or client side to set the audio formats which are supported (I found DTS and DTS HD passthrough but that's it) - a more finetuned set of supported formats (or even channels in formats) would be a nice addition to the client (of course, in an advanced menu) Thanks!
ebr 16176 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I don't believe ARC supports 7.1 output. Can you please follow the instructions to send a log from the app after playing one of these items for a few seconds? Thanks.
TonioRoffo 4 Posted September 16, 2019 Author Posted September 16, 2019 No, ARC can't do this, correct - that's why it's strange it's not transcoding the audio. OK, as soon as I can I will send the log.
