Emby Connect on local network

I looked around but didn't see an answer. If I connect an Android TV device through Emby Connect on my local network, will it recognize that I am local and act accordingly.

 

I want to connect through emby connect so that if I take the device to a mobile network I won't have to adjust the connection settings

 

Am I getting this right? All these years I have never used Emby connect but it works great.

It should work just as you want it to. What you're describing is how my phone is configured.
