Videos won't play until weird workaround

Using media browser classic through WMC I randomly have problems playing videos.  Sometimes the files will play fine when I select play, other times nothing happens at all.  The fix I've noticed for when nothing happens is to push the "Recorded TV Shows" button on my WMC remote and then once that screen is loaded I push the "Back" button which takes me immediately to the video I was just trying to play.  When I push play again at this time everything works correctly.  Any ideas as to why this happens?

This is one of those oddities/bugs with WMC I think.  I've seen it happen occasionally but had not discovered the workaround you did.  I have always had to re-start WMC.  It doesn't happen to me very often though.

For anyone else having this issue, I haven't been able to find a fix so I created an auto hotkey script mapped to the * button on my remote.  The script simulates the "Recorded Shows" "Back" "Ok" sequence of button pushes to correctly play my videos.
