Info1 13 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 (edited) Hello, Need some advice. I have EMBY nicely setup and i get engish and Spanish subtitles for my movies. I recently removed and re-added my TV shows folder and enable sub titles the same as I have for movies but none are loading. EMBY picks up and identifies the series fine, I get all the thumbnail's and metadata just no subs. Has anyone else enable subs for TV shows and has success? Thanks m Edited September 12, 2019 by Info1
Luke 42081 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hi there, do you have subtitle files? How are the subtitle files named?
Info1 13 Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 Hi Luke, It is not EMBY's ability to display but the process to download them from Open Subtitles does not seem to work for TV series. Works fine for Movies. Thanks M
Luke 42081 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Why do you feel that it doesn't work? What exactly did you try?
Info1 13 Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Morning, So when I add a new movie the scan will run and pick english and spanish subtitles if available. When I enabled the featre to scan the TV show (Series) folder and run the search now it does not populate subtitesl in the TV shows directories. I understand not all series will have subtitles available but none... but I have 60 plus TV shows and most of them are popular. When I look open source web site and search I do see some of my shows listed. I have tried: 1-enable the feature - scan the library 2-Disable hash match and scan 3-Delete the library and read - and scan No of the above work. This is why I am asking if anyone has Sub from open source working for TV shows. Thanks M
ebr 16185 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hi. What happens if you search manually?
Luke 42081 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hi, did you check out our wiki article on subtitle downloading? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Automatic-Subtitle-Downloads Specifically the section "If Subtitles are not automatically downloading". Let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Info1 13 Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Thanks Luke, The support is well received. I deleted the library and will rescan with the hash unchecked. Other than open source is there another support sub title plugin? Thanks m

Info1 13 Posted September 14, 2019 Author Posted September 14, 2019 Yes. Have you explored the Emby Server plugin catalog? Hello, I have not and will invest some time today. I had hoped someone else would chime in that may have had the same challenge. I do see a couple TV show now have the subtitles but of the 60 or so shows it is only like 2 or 3. It is like the process is stopping do to too many request or something as the shows are current so there should be subtitles. I will keep trying. Thanks M
Info1 13 Posted September 14, 2019 Author Posted September 14, 2019 Luke, I had some time and double checked my account is correct on Opensource. I trapped the log below that seams to show up repeately: 019-09-14 10:54:22.088 Error SubtitleManager: Error downloading subtitles from Open Subtitles*** Error Report ***Version: 4.2.1.0Command line: C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll -noautorunwebappOperating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 164-Bit OS: True64-Bit Process: TrueUser Interactive: TrueRuntime: file:///C:/Users/Mark/AppData/Roaming/MediaBrowser-Server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dllProcessor count: 4Program data path: C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-ServerApplication directory: C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\systemMediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RateLimitExceededException: MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RateLimitExceededException: OpenSubtitles rate limit reached at OpenSubtitles.OpenSubtitleDownloader.SendRequestAsync(ReadOnlyMemory`1 request, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at OpenSubtitles.OpenSubtitleDownloader.SearchSubtitlesAsync(OpenSubtitleQuery[] parameters, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at OpenSubtitles.OpenSubtitleDownloader.Search(SubtitleSearchRequest request, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MediaBrowser.Providers.Subtitles.SubtitleManager.SearchSubtitles(SubtitleSearchRequest request, CancellationToken cancellationToken)Source: OpenSubtitlesTargetSite: Void MoveNext() What is the CancellationToken, looks like the requests are being dropped. m
Luke 42081 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Did you enter your open subtitles username and password?
Info1 13 Posted September 15, 2019 Author Posted September 15, 2019 Did you enter your open subtitles username and password? Good morning, thanks for the response. Appears Opensource may be throttling as I tested my current password and changed it no effect. I posted my log on their board but as a new users requires a mod to approve. I suspect they will suggest a VIP membership but even this seems to be limited to 40 matches so I took you advice from above and I am testing with the other plugins for Subs. I am getting better results. We can close this one and my suggesting to other is to add the other Sub plugins. Thanks M
