IkeTaylor11 61 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I am using Emby for Live TV with an IPTV provider. The provider allows for 4 simultaneous streams from 2 different IP addresses. When watching the channels through Emby will each connecting client be seen as a seperate IP for the IPTV provider or do they all share the IP of the Emby server. For example. Client 1 playing channel 1 on an iPhone using LTE Client 2 playing channel 2 on an android box on home LAN Client 3 playing channel 3 on an android box using a remote connection on a different WAN Client 4 playing channel 4 on an iphone using wireless at a cafe Each client is watching a different channel which will use up all 4 streams. But, since each IP of each device will be different will I be going over the IP limit of my provider? Or does every channel being watched show as the same IP since they are going through the Emby server?
IkeTaylor11 61 Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 They'll use the ip of emby server. Ok that’s good news. So what if multiple users are watching the same channel at the same time? Does it only use 1 stream from the source or is each user tying up a stream? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42079 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 It depends on the source format. When possible they'll share the stream.
