All audio plays as LPCM stereo

Files that play through Emby WMC show up Dolby Digital or DTS on the receiver, which should mean  Windows audio is configured correctly.

 

The same movies are showing up as LPCM stereo when played through Emby Theater (Desktop).  

 

I am using SPDIF directly from PC to receiver.  

 

From other threads, I think I need a tweak to MPV settings?

 

I have the LAV audio settings configured, but I believe this only affects Media Center, not Theater/MPV.

Did you enable the passthrough in Emby Theater audio settings?

I have tried both ways, passthrough enabled and disabled.  Same result.

Passthrough has nothing to do with Windows audio configuration, other than choosing the device. The software will get the equipment capabilities from the hardware, if available.

 

You are using optical, so you can only pass basic AC3 and DTS. Only enable those in Theater. If that doesn't work, I'll have you set up logging and we'll see what's happening.
