jusjoken 2 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 The announcement for "Say Hello to the New Face of Android TV" states that a "Rewrite list view to properly handle large lists" occured which I read to say there is a list view but I cannot find one for either Movies nor TV. I have the option of Tabbed View and Simple Grid View but no List View like on other Emby UI's Version 1.7.43g and Server 4.2.1.0 Am I missing a setting or is this not a feature in Android TV UI ?
ebr 16184 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Hi. The list view is used for TV Seasons, Albums, Playlists, etc. There is not a configurable option for the normal library views to be displayed as a list at this time.

Sad, that is the view I use the most on the other Emby UI's. Should I add a feature request or will this just occur sometime as the other UI's have it?
ebr 16184 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 The app will probably eventually get there. It just isn't a presentation most people want to see on the "big screen". Thanks.
HansWurst 16 Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 OK, doing some kind of grave digging on this thread. I am really missing this view on Android TV. Its absence makes it hard to use so I have to use Kodi instead which has other issues i.e can not handle extra sections of emby. Are there any plans on solving this thing?
ebr 16184 Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Hi. Instead of Kodi, you could side-load our standard Android app on the device. 1 1
HansWurst 16 Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Hi ebr, yes, this works better. List view is available but the interface seems optimated for touch, interacting with the remote seems a little nervous. Isn't it possible to implement this feature in an update or is it such a big deal? I am using Kodi (with emby-addon) and Emby apps parallel, each one is good (to be honest Kodi is still better). A mixture of both would be perfect, I think.
Luke 42078 Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Quote List view is available but the interface seems optimated for touch, interacting with the remote seems a little nervous Hi there, why do you feel this way? Did you make sure to enable TV display mode? It should be enabled by default on the Shield.
HansWurst 16 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Hhm. When scrolling in the originial Android-TV app, the curser goes step by step throu the menu (ie alphabetical bar on the left hand side). In the Android it flows really fast.
HansWurst 16 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Well, in the native Android-TV app the scroll speed is ok while in the Android-App the speed is way to fast.

HansWurst 16 Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Well best way would be to add the functions of android-app to android-tv-app (ie list view). Regards
marius0208 0 Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Just started my Emby Premiere and I am struggling with the list view in the Android-TV app. Is there a chance to get this type of view implemented? Actually this is some kind ot showstopper for me.
