Hello,

I am running a small server with 120 gb SSD and movies on a 2 tb hdd and I want to save some space in metadata. What are the best options to keep the metadata size as low as possible?

Options like ‘Download images as advance? I dont know if storing metadata in nfo is a space saver? Would love to know some tips.

Hi, no, this will cause you to use more space as you'll be downloading images you may never need.

I would look at the library features you've enabled. Have you enabled thumbnail image extraction?

Yeah had disabled that. But if you disable ‘download images in advance’ will it then only download the info metadata and match the title to the right movie? And if i press on it will it then download the movie poster and other images?

Assuming you don't want your metadata/cache on the SSD due to space concerns ?, then move your cache folder in 'Settings\Advanced\Cache Path' but there may be a performance hit vs the SSD.  In the grand scheme of things, metadata storage is tiny vs movies, so even your 120Gb SSD should keep you going for a long while - certainly easily enough for 2Tb of movies I would say.

*EDIT* - As a comparison, my entire 1.3K Movies/20K TV Episodes - all with 30 Second Thumbnails takes ~30Gb of metadata...  :)

No, it just affects when the downloading happens.
