Electrical_problems 0 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Hello: Issue: Emby Server is reading some dvd files from VIDEO_TS (.vob) incorrectly for playback length. Experience: For example I have a movie that is actually 117 minutes long and Emby is reading it as 59 minutes. This carries over into Kodi and actual watch time is reduced to 59 minutes there (it's almost like it skips the middle of the movie). I have some other movies that ES is reading as only 4 to 9 minutes long and they are actually 75+ minutes long (these movies only play for the first 4 to 9 minutes and then stop). Other information: My metadata files are stored in movie.xml as well as .nfo files and the information in these files is correct as far as I know. How do I correct this? Is there some setting in ES that I am missing? I am having a hard time wrapping my head into this one and I am not sure where to start or how to describe the problem better.
Luke 42087 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Hi, is this a single .vob file, or a folder with more than one?
Electrical_problems 0 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Posted September 7, 2019 All of the VIDEO_TS folders I have looked at with this problem so far have more than one .vob file (files are named VTS_01_1, VTS_01_2, etc). I don't think I have any files where there is only one .vob file for any movie. Likewise, movies that do read length correctly also have multiple .vob files.
Solution Luke 42087 Posted September 7, 2019 Solution Posted September 7, 2019 Ok, please be advised that our support for these is only experimental. We do our best to to look at the .vob files and try to determine which ones correspond to the main feature. For the best experience possible I would suggest using MakeMKV to convert to an mkv file. 1
Electrical_problems 0 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Posted September 7, 2019 For what its worth all of these movies worked correctly in MediaBrowser2 on Windows Media Center (I am guessing WMC maybe read the video files there).
Luke 42087 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 I am guessing WMC maybe read the video files there Exactly yes, it had native support for these.
