Scan Library Vs Refreshing

I have a few Shows, for reasons unknown look like the following:

 

 

When we hit Scan library, does it apply a refresh to series already in the library? Because i know that my only way to fix it is to go on the show and hit Refresh and then save, then the show shows up like Season 2 in my example above.

Scan library just looks for changes and only refreshes things that need to be due to a change of some sort.

 

Refreshing from the editor forces a refresh regardless of whether or not anything changed.

 

For some reason, those episodes were not identified properly the first time the scan ran after they appeared.  You'd have to find the log when that occurred for us to know what that reason is.

I have this happen at times when I am maxing out my internet connection downloading things. You need to give mediabrowser enough bandwidth to grab from online sources too. If your scan is slow, try to scan when nothing else is eating bandwidth so mediabrowser can pull down things faster.
