simstim 0 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Hi, Emby plays standard wavpack (.wv) audio files without a problem, but does not use a corresponding lossy-to-lossless correction file (.wvc) in the same directory. Is this because the underlying ffmpeg does not recognise wavpack correction files?
Luke 42079 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Hi, to be honest I'm not sure. This is something that's never come up before. When is it supposed to use it?
simstim 0 Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 Hi, When the wavpack file been encoded as hybrid lossless. The main .wv file becomes a standalone, lossy file, but if a correction file of the same name is found it can be recombined on the fly with the lossy file to play back the original lossless audio.
Luke 42079 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Ok, this is something we've never looked at before so i imagine it will require all-new development.
simstim 0 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Posted September 7, 2019 Is it something you would be willing to add to the development schedule?
Luke 42079 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 It's possible for the future. Right now we would need to see a little more user demand for it.
simstim 0 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Posted September 7, 2019 No problem, it is probably a bit niche so happy to wait.
