FFMPEG eats up hdd resources after quitting playback?

Hello guys,

I noticed this issue earlier but now tried to investigate a little by myself.

I use emby 4.2.1 on Windows 10 64 bit on a Xeon E3 (like i7) and GTX 1050 GPU.

my system has ffmpeg 4.03 currently (how can I upgrade?)

The issue is: playback of 4k movies with transcoding and playback on say Android mobile. This works fine. Everything ok with hardware based transcoding, but when I cancel playback to choose another movie, the ffmpeg process is still reading data from the harddisk at maximum speed for at least 30 seconds.

this of course infects the next try of playing back another movie with transcode on the Android mobile. Second ffmpeg process runs into lack of data, as first process still consumes 100% of hdd transfer speed.

Strange: this does not occur on 1080p movies even with 16 mbit

can somebody verify this by having a look to Windows taskmanager and checking the HDD usage after quitting 4k movie playback on client?

thanks and bye

Michael
