crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Went to test WrestleMania X-Seven out on my LG TV, and I just get a blank screen. Doesn't even load a trailer and then die, it just dies right off the bat. Tried watching something else and it worked fine, both trailer and movie. Turned cinema mode off, and WrestleMania still fails so it's not trailer-related as far as I can tell. But it's odd that it wouldn't play a trailer either. Tested it on my PC and got a trailer followed by WrestleMania playing correctly. embyserver.txt
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 I should point out that the poster art and theme music worked fine. So it can clearly access the folder in question.
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 It finally started playing after several seconds of black screen - transcoding due to being over the bitrate limit. Because apparently I'm connected remotely. Reconnected locally and it plays instantly. Although that doesn't explain the trailer thing. Or why I keep getting connected remotely.
Luke 42085 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Try lowering the in app quality setting in case the bitrate is too high.
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 The in-app setting was "auto", but what does that actually have to do with anything?
Luke 42085 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Because if it took a long time to load then it's possible the bitrate was too high.
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 It was set to Auto and ending up at only 1Mbps. But it was only relevant because I was connected remotely. Which I shouldn't have been. If I'd known I was connected remotely something taking a while to load wouldn't have surprised me. I thought I was connected locally, so I expected it to be instant. Question is why I keep ending up connected remotely instead of locally.
Luke 42085 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Why do you feel that you were connected remotely?
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 Because I was? It Direct Plays just fine locally. My NGINX logs show the server being accessed when I was trying to watch it at first as well.
Luke 42085 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 What happens is that the app will try the local address first, then switch to the remote address if it's unable to connect via the local address.
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 Why would it be unable to connect locally?
Luke 42085 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 That is a question that is specific to your environment so it's really hard to say.
