aahmyu 9 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 So I have a tv show episode in this path: "TV Shows\Chernobyl\Season 1\Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1-23-45.mkv" The problem is empy is formatting the name wrong just for this episode, it gives it all the episodes names like this: "1:23:45, Please Remain Calm, Open Wide, O Earth , The Happiness of All Mankind, Vichnaya Pamyat" and also all the episodes description. I tried fixing this manually by removing the extra stuff but emby refuses to use the right name and only uses this name "1-45. 1:23:45" For some reason it thinks this episode has 45 episodes connected to it or something probably something wrong with the name parser. Just thought to mention it in case you want to fix it. Regards
Luke 42089 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Hi, these are always difficult examples. I would just use the metadata editor to correct the season and episode numbers for this one.
aahmyu 9 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) Yeah that's the thing, it is refusing to use the correct name even when i set manually. Edited September 4, 2019 by aahmyu
pwhodges 2014 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 My copy doesn't do this - is the hyphen between the episode number and the start of the episodes name the problem? The name I have is: D:\Films&TV\_LA Series\Chernobyl\Chernobyl.S01\Chernobyl s01e01 1-23-45.mkv
crusher11 1102 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Could you rename the file as "TV Shows\Chernobyl\Season 1\Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1.23.45.mkv"?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Unfortunately it is a issue specific to that naming scheme "Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1-23-45.mkv". As mentioned above "Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1.23.45.mkv" works without issue and stays relatively close to your naming scheme.
pwhodges 2014 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I changed just the file name to yours, and the display is what you get. I guess seeing the hyphen between the actual episode number and another digit is what is triggering the multi-episode logic; but it also depends on the episode syntax. I've tried: Chernobyl s01e01 1-23-45.mkv OK (my default format) Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1-23-45.mkv Bad (your syntax) Chernobyl s01e01 - 1-23-45.mkv OK (my syntax with just one extra hyphen) I'll leave it to Luke to find the exact trigger.
aahmyu 9 Posted September 4, 2019 Author Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) I changed the name to Chernobyl - 1x01 - 1.23.45.mkv and everything is fine now. But maybe it is worth looking into it and try to fix the parsing although I can admit it is a rare case. Thanks for the help though Edited September 4, 2019 by aahmyu
Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) It will always be a issue with that naming scheme as it could mean Multi-episode files, as it displayed for you (E1 through E45) Edited September 4, 2019 by Happy2Play
