Emby stable instance parallel to beta with shared library

Hello together,
I'm planning to setup a 'production' Emby instance using the stable docker image and a second instance using the beta branch. The second beta instance for testing new features and also plugins etc., e.g. before I apply new plugins into the production instance.
For keeping the testing instance as close as possible to my real setting, I want to "share" some libraries between both instances.
Does anyone has already experiences in operating such a setting or know of some pitfalls, especially with respect to the library sharing? As far as I've seen and understand, Emby stores only some meta information (e.g. using NFO files) in the library folder beside the movies but not internal, library "database" content. Is that observation correct or does anyone have any insights or thoughts on that??

Just need to ensure metadata/image downloading is only enabled on one server.  Only issue will be both servers will be downloading People and Artistis if you have music.
