Emby Theater, play non-default audio as default

This might be a how to but I think it’s a feature request

Lets say I have a folder with many videos in it

For whatever reason, I want to play these with audio track number n (most often, because I want to listen the commentary track, but can be because I want mono not 5.1, or suchlike)

So when I go to the folder:

There’s a ... menu where I can restrict the view, in my case normally to mkv container when I have other gubbins in the folder

At the same point, I’d like to set a preferred audio track number (if this number didn’t exist in any given file, would drop back to file default audio)

Then hit play all.

I can imagine for some people, a similar option for subs might be useful.

Hope I am making sense and didn’t miss something obvious!!!

Hi, yes this is a feature request. In the meantime, have you checked out your Emby user audio preferences?

No I hadn’t looked at that, just looking now, I can see some interesting options there but nothing for this request in general.

The nearest I can think of right now would be to have a special language code for commentaries and then prefer that language temporarily!

The problem is that it's hard to determine if an audio track is commentary.

Yeah exactly - if not impossible! Hence why I suggest on the play all allow set a temporary preference for an audio track number, so that I can play Dr Who and the Daemons episodes 1-5 without having to manually switch back to the commentary track at the start of each epi. Which is annoying especially as I like to listen to such things when I’m travelling to help me sleep!

I would like this as well.

Usually each episode has the same language track at the same position.

So imo it would be great if Emby were to play the same Audio and subtitle track as the previous episode if available.
