I found the full screen toggle "F" for video mode and have programmed my MCE remote to handle this (works well).

However, I wondered if there was a way to toggle full screen while in the navigator?

I have the issue where the taskbar is showing every time my pc wakes from sleep (both DVI (direct to screen) and HDMI (via AV Receiver) so having a toggle for the navigator would be nice to have, if not I can live with the "F" toggle in video mode.

Thanks, Anthony

That's just going to be the Windows maximize button.

Tried that but it seems to fill the screen up to but not including the taskbar.

Oh I've seen this happen before. Other than what you've already figured out, you would have to double click the window to fill the screen, and then the maximize button will work as it should.

I think you are assuming mouse in hand.  I was looking at a keyboard shortcut (ie Windows Logo key +up arrow)I could use to program the remote to use, so that I can eliminate needing the keyboard.

Yeah, I know, but I think this particular issue is a glitch. I haven't had it happen in a while, but that was the way I had to correct it.

You can also double click anywhere inside the header on any screen.

Those are mouse clicks, sorry.

I think I am not conveying exactly what I am looking for.

I need a keyboard shortcut (like the "F" in video mode) that I can program into a remote that will toggle full screen in navigation mode from the remote.

I have tried the standard windows keyboard shortcuts but they only maximise Emby Theatre (ie task bar still shows).

If this is not possible so be it.  I have a workaround from the remote.  I just start playing any video, then press the remote button which I have programmed to "F", then back out of the video and return to navigator.  Eliminates keyboard/mouse but not so clean.

Thanks for all the responses so far, much appreciated.

Just close the app when in fullscreen. When you restart, it should still be in fullscreen. Otherwise, I think you are out of luck.

I'm sure we can find a key command to toggle when not playing video.

The only thing that I found was win+up arrow, but that left the taskbar visible.

What's curious is that pressing f with the mpv window when not playing anything, will make the window fullscreen.

Thanks guys for giving this your attention, appreciated!

This is probably a dumb place to put this, but not sure if its worth a new topic.

Anyway, seems like in Theater desktop horizontal mode, if you start it windowed, it has info at the bottom showing Movie logo, name, duration, rating etc, if you go full screen that info disappears and never comes back till you restart the program.

The horizontal home screen doesn't react perfectly to window size changes.

It's frustrating when Emby shrinks on your TV and then you have no choice but to use the mouse to enlarge it across the entire screen with maximize button. I use a SoundBar and every time I turn it off along with the TV when I turn it back the Emby shrinks, I've tried everything and nothing seems to help, I even tried denying access to the windowstate.json file but that didn't help either. So is it really impossible to somehow solve this problem programmatically?

Hi, yes we might be able to get creative and come up with something.

Hello all!

I'm a little behind, but just saw this thread and wanted to chime in.  I have exactly the same issue as the original poster.  I'm using Emby Theater from a home-built HTPC using only a remote, no access to a mouse (at least no easy access).  I've been similarly frustrated by the fact that Emby Theater does not stay in full screen mode when the TV is turned off, and there is no keyboard shortcut that allows it to return to full screen mode except the "F" key which only works when playing content and does not work in navigation.  Other standard windows keys (such as Win-upArrow) also do not work.

I posted about this previously here:

I can program any keyboard shortcut into my remote, I just need one that will work.  I do know that with the mouse this is easily fixed by double clicking and re-maximizing or by clicking the maximize button in the top right, but as the original poster commented, I don't have a mouse handy!  Even better would be if Emby just could stay full screen!

I've been anxiously awaiting the new version of Theater that is supposed to fix these UI issues, but if a short-term fix could be applied that would be awesome (such as making "F" work when navigating the menus).

Any suggestions are appreciated!

There are many places where keyboard input is supported even if you don't release it, therefore, I don't see an F key all by itself being used as a toggle for fullscreen.

One option is F11, which would mimic what web browsers use as a shortcut for it.

Yeah, I've tried F11 also, and when navigating menus in Emby Theater it also does not work.

It's not implemented but I was just suggesting we do that instead of just the F key.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.  But yes, I think that'd be a great solution!
