EMBY not detecting my HDhomerun

I noticed a couple weeks ago I could't access live tv, it wasn't even available in the UI. I went to the server and looked at teh dvr settings, when I saved on exiting it said tuner wasn't there (or something like that).

When I hit "detect tuners" it found nothing. I opened the HDHR UI and found the ip and entered in manually and things were ok. Fast forward to today I look in my recordings folder and have nothing for the last 2 weeks.

Same problem, I am running win 10 with the server up to date. This has never happened for the six months or so I have had the HDHR with Emby.

All the while I have never had an issue playing live tv with the HDHR app on my Shield, so I know the tuner has been up.

Anyone have any idea why this would be the case?

Does the tuner show up now in the live TV settings?

Once I manually set the IP it was good. But I forgot about it, and actually have no recordings since 8-8 so apparently it stopped working right after that.

I was looking at setting a static IP in the prime. But never had to do that before so not sure why I would now.

I just manually added the tuner by the IP adress, and all is well. But emby is unable to detect the tuner automatically, and it appears that if and when the ip changes emby loses it.

But the Prime is reachable by all the normal means as it always has been. Kind of lost here anyone have any reason why this may be happening?

I suppose I never had this problem as I statically assign most of my permanent stuff, TV Tuners included.

Post back if this solves the issue.

It uses upnp to discover, so perhaps those communications were blocked due to network or firewall configuration. It's hard to say. the good news is you can always manually enter the ip address.

I can manually enter but when it changes and I don't notice Emby no longer has access. I guess a static IP will solve this. As far as the upnp thing a couple weeks back I could not connect remotely to my network, neither emby or rdp. A reboot of my router solved it. That thing is old and cheap, might be time for an upgrade.

Not sure what to do there as other devices/software detects the tuner just fine. Upnp is enabled.

I was able to reserve the IP in my router for the HDHR, hopefully that clears it up. I will keep an eye on things.
