Having said that I have been having a hell of a time getting the Amby app (on my fire tv) to stay connected to the server. Let me explain....So I installed the Amby server onto my desktop PC running windows 10 and installed the app on my fire tv. Initially it found the server and all was great. But later (after my PC went into sleep mode) the app could no longer find the server. I went through the whole entering the IP address into the app about a half a dozen times then gave up. I deleted the app and re downloaded it but nothing. So I made sure the correct port was open on my PC and reinstalled the server. The app saw the server and connected up no problem UNTIL my PC went into sleep mode again. Now to make sure I am being clear...once my PC powers down...the app can no longer find the server after being powered up and server opened. No matter what I try it just won't see the server anymore. What am I missing here? I shouldn't have to leave my PC on all the time should I? I don't connect remotely at all...It just in network use. Any ideas?

ebr 16184 Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 When the Fire cannot find the server, can you connect to it with a browser (not on the same machine as the server) or your phone?

Luke 42078 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 You said you installed emby server on windows 10. When this happens is the emby server icon showing up in the windows system tray? If you click on that icon there is a menu option to launch the web interface. That's what I mean by web app.
Highvoltage68 0 Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 Luke, first of all thank you for your help thus far and I apologize for the delay. Work got the best of me this week. I do have the Emby icon in my tray but when selected I do not have that option. My options are as follows: browse library configure Emby Emby Premiere restart server visit community The IP address displayed on my Emby dashboard is always the same but nothing can connect to it. If I put the IP address into another machine (laptop) it is unable to connect.

rbjtech 5284 Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) It seems odd that it works until the PC sleeps and does not when it wakes - making be believe the power management is not turning the network Interface back on properly somehow ? In the Network Connections section in Control panel - under Ethernet properties - perhaps untick the first option to see if that makes any difference ? Edited September 1, 2019 by rbjtech
