ipad mini 5 and transcoding HEVC

Can anyone advise if the new ipad mini 5 can play 10 bit 1080 HEVC throught the Emby app without transcoding?

Hi, we haven't personally tested this exact device yet, but all of the latest iOS devices can handle 10 bit HEVC so I don't think there should be any problem.

The reason I ask is my wife's iphone XR (same A12 chip) transcoded a video (10 bit 1080 HEVC) sent from Emby server to Chrome browser on her phone - I had thought it would direct play. And I'm thinking of buying an ipad mini 5. I believe it's hardware is capable of decoding this format but wordering if Emby is does this.

I would use the iOS app as web browsers have limited format support.

Just back from the shops and can confirm 10 bit HEVC 1080 videos play on ipad mini 5 Emby app without transcoding.
