Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Go to html5test.com in each browser. You will see what they support.

Luke 42077 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 That example will not direct play anyway due to the dts audio.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 (edited) I personally don't have any 4K HDR media. But have yet to see h265 support in browser on my system that has the hardware. Don't know if I need to purchase the extension from the MS store. Edited August 21, 2019 by Happy2Play
mrfaulk 10 Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 That example will not direct play anyway due to the dts audio. is it possible to pass through audio?
Luke 42077 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Not from a web browser. Why not just press play and enjoy the show and trust that emby will play it back in the best way possible?

mrfaulk 10 Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 That example will not direct play anyway due to the dts audio. the dts audio doesn't seem to force transcode when playing a non-hdr file?
mrfaulk 10 Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 Why not just press play and enjoy the show and trust that emby will play it back in the best way possible? because i have a 4k hdr projector and an atmos sound system, would to like to use both to their fullest ability if possible, with emby's web app if possible.
Luke 42077 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 As of today web browsers still have limited format support so that will not make it the best choice for what you are wanting to do.
mrfaulk 10 Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 (edited) As of today web browsers still have limited format support so that will not make it the best choice for what you are wanting to do. can you explain why emby transcoded the hdr file but not the 1080p file? as mentioned, they both had dts audio so that couldn't be the prob could it? is there a log file that would show exactly why it transcoded? Luke 42077 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Did you explore the server dashboard to learn why it was transcoding? Or the stats feature inside the video player? We've built this so that you can find out this info in your own.
